The mission of Hope Counseling Center
is to facilitate the mental, social, and spiritual growth of our community
by offering affordable quality mental health care by Christian professionals.
To fulfill our mission of offering
quality mental health care we ensure our counselors are
licensed by the State of Alaska. Also, by providing an internship and
qualified supervision for non-licensed counselors who are working toward
state licensure.
To fulfill our mission of offering
affordable mental health care we have established a Client
Assistance Program (CAP). This fund is used to help those that do not
have insurance or have insurance that does not cover mental health care.

one of our clients.
“I am a new client of HCC and
am receiving Client Assistance due to my low income. I have been in much
need of counseling for many years and never sought out the help due to
the high cost. The wonderful staff informed me of the Client Assistance
Program and helped me to obtain the necessary paperwork. When I was approved
for the assistance, I literally sat down and cried. My prayers had been
answered. I knew I was doing the right thing and headed in the right direction.
I have been in counseling for 3 months now and have made much improvement.
I have had the courage to take a class with Tanana Community College and
will receive my certificate of completion in a few weeks. I now have the
courage and determination, as well as the skills, to go back to work and
support my family. Without the assistance provided for me I would not
have been able to work towards putting my life back together. I thank
you from the bottom of my heart and the smile in my daughters face. Please
continue to support HCC, for you never know how many peoples lives are
affected when you help just one person overcome pain and tragedy.”
In 2005 our clients used over $48,000.00
worth of assistance from our CAP. In 2006 our clients used over $76,000.00
worth of client assistance from our CAP. As a non-profit organization,
HCC continually seeks the help of individual and business contributions,
grants and other funding sources, such as our annual fundraising event
to help reach the overall goal of providing affordable and needed services.
Our annual “Sharing The Hope” Benefit Dinner & Auction is one way we are
able to provide financial assistance to our clients.
